MO672HIGH FLUX VERSUS LOW FLUX HEMODIALYSIS: A PRE-POST STUDY

چکیده
Abstract Background and Aims High flux hemodialysis has largely replaced low in developed countries. Clinical trials, particular the Hemo MPO studies, conducted many years ago, showed that survival benefit was mainly for patients on long term first one high risk with albumin level (less than 40g/dl) latter. Moreover, effect hematopoiesis or mineral balance is not unequivocally established literature. In Lebanon, following recommendations of ministry health, we switched undergoing at our center from to starting April 2019. We aimed this study assess switch hemoglobin level, dose ESA used, metabolism parameters nutritional parameters. Method This an observational pre-post where each patient his own control. Subjects included are adults chronic more 6 months Hotel Dieu de France University Hospital. Patients who needed transfusion bleeding, admission hospital parathyroidectomy during period were excluded study. Demographic parameters, medical history laboratory values extracted patients’ files. Paired t- test used compare obtained compared hemodialysis. Results Seventy four received sequentially both techniques (45 males 29 females). Mean age 66 years, mean dialysis vintage 65 months, diabetic vascular diseases most frequent causes ESRD found 27 15% cases. Hemoglobin significantly increased 11 +/- 0.82 11.26 0.67 mg/dl (p=0.04) a non-significant trend towards lower dose: 11620 UI/week (+/-2275 UI) versus 10860 (+/-2609 second (p=0.15). Ferritin levels higher part (416 v/s 476 ng/ml) which may have contributed increase hemoglobin. Phosphorus decreased 1.55 1.48 mmol/l (p=0.008) same doses binders practically stable calcium PTH. Most interestingly, 38 40.3 g/dl (p<0.001). Finally urea reduction ratio 73.1% 74.5% p value 0.001. Conclusion Assuring quality ultrapure water still challenge developing Lack firm evidence beneficial terms mortality delay sanitary authorities imposing study, switching positive impact phosphorus but interestingly major predictor patients.

BACKGROUND Inadequacy of dialysis is one of the main causes of death in hemodialysis patients. Some studies have suggested that high-flux membrane improves the removal of moderate-sized molecules while other studies indicate no significant effect on them. OBJECTIVES This study aimed to investigate the dialysis efficacy of low-flux versus high-flux membranes in hemodialysis patients. PATIENT...
متن کاملEffects of High-Flux versus Low-Flux Membranes on Pulmonary Function Tests in Hemodialysis Patients
BACKGROUND Several studies have been carried out to evaluate the effects of dialysis on pulmonary function tests (PFT). Dialysis procedure may reduce lung volumes and capacities or cause hypoxia; however, to the best of our knowledge, there is no previous study evaluating the effects of membrane type (high flux vs. low flux) on PFT in these patients. The aim of this study was the evaluation of ...

background several studies have been carried out to evaluate the effects of dialysis on o2 saturation. while the dialysis procedure may lead to hypoxia under different circumstances, there are few studies available on the effects of membrane type on o2 saturation in these patients. objectives this study was to appraise the effects of high and low flux membrane on pulse oxymetery in dialysis pat...
